Actress and media personality Azziad Nasenya has taken a stand against critics who persistently attribute her success to male influence, in a passionate social media post.

Expressing her frustration, Nasenya fiercely confronted those she believes harbor jealousy towards her achievements.

“Why is it that when a young girl is successful people have to associate it to men? People are so threatened and jealous of young girls who are making it,” she exclaimed in a video shared online.

She emphasized her various roles as a radio presenter, actress, content creator, and entrepreneur, along with owning her own company, debunking assumptions of male sponsorship in her endeavors.

Nasenya highlighted the unfairness of such assumptions, stressing that women, particularly of Generation Z, are hardworking individuals who seize opportunities through their own merits. “Gen Z’s we are go-getters. We work hard. We see an opportunity we grab it,” she asserted.

Addressing the prevalence of jealousy towards successful individuals, Nasenya urged for a shift towards supporting one another’s achievements rather than fostering envy. “Let’s just learn to clap for other people and stop the jealousy,” she concluded.

This public stance by Nasenya comes amidst ongoing challenges, including cyberbullying she faced after her viral video to the song “Utawezana” by Femi One, which led her to contemplate suicide due to overwhelming negative attention.
