Brian Mwenda Njagi, who was accused of impersonating a city lawyer, and Radio host Kathleen McKenzie aka Miss Kenzie, have ended their engagement after barely two months since he proposed.
The couple had been in a long-term relationship prior to the engagement.
Although they have not disclosed the reason for their amicable decision to call off the engagement, they have requested privacy as they transition into singlehood while remaining friends.
“After a period of self assessment, both Brian and Kenzie have arrived at the decision to part ways. We are grateful for the time spent together. We kindly request that you do not contact us or ask questions regarding this mutual decision as we go through this transition. We endeavor to remain good friends and request respect for our privacyat this time. Thankyou for your continued support.”

‘Fake Lawyer’ Brian Mwenda
Brian Mwenda became famous in 2023 after being accused of forging a law certificate and impersonating a city lawyer.
In October 13, 2023, the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) addressed Mwenda Njagi’s case of identity theft involving Brian Mwenda Ntwiga.
According to the LSK, Ntwiga was admitted to the bar on August 5, 2022, but failed to apply for a practicing certificate as he worked at the Attorney General’s office.
In September 2023, Ntwiga was unable to access the system to activate his profile, since the associated email address did not belong to him.
LSK pointed out that the impersonator (Mwenda Njagi) identified an authentic advocate status as inactive and contacted the secretariat to apply for license payment, but could not proceed due to incorrect details.
“After gaining access to the account, he manipulated the portal by changing his profile picture, workplace, and submitted an application and payment for the certificate. However, his application couldn’t be processed as he needed to provide additional documents, including a certificate of business incorporation, for verification,” the statement highlighted.
LSK confirmed that their portal was safe, and members’ data was secure.
Yet, Brian Mwenda and Miss Kenzie’s relationship endured despite the allegations. The surprising end of their engagement came after they had already weathered the storm together.
