In a shocking turn of events, Evans Kosgei’s disturbing online rant culminated in a double tragedy. He murdered murdered his wife, Jackline Kimaiyo, accusing her of infidelity, and then committed suicide. All the while, he documented his sinister plans via X, even tagging the DCI and the media. Sadly, no one took him seriously until it was too late.
How it all Started
In 2016, Evans Kosgei and Jackline Kimaiyo met in high school, starting a relationship. Jackline gave birth to their daughter while studying at Murang’a University of Science and Technology.
“We started dating way back in high school. She was in Anin Girls in Elgeyo Marakwet, and I was in Kimoning Boys in Uasin Gishu county in 2016. She later joined Murang’a University and graduated. In between, she gave birth to my little princess, and I had to relocate to take care of my kid and support her studies,”
Evans Kosgei stated.
The couple built a life together in Murang’a, with Evans working as a night guard and caring for their child during the day as Jackline pursued her education. “I used to work at night as a night guard. During the day, I take care of the kid as she goes to school. We agreed to be husband and wife,” added Evans.
Evans even sold his land, trees, and livestock to support Jackline’s education after her family disowned her due to pregnancy in September 2018.
“Over the years since we started this relationship shenanigan, I have sold my property, including felling down my trees and selling my sheep, just to support her in school because immediately she got pregnant that was in September 2018, her dad disowned her,”
Evans Kosgei narrated.
Infidelity
Earlier this year, their harmonious life took a dark turn when Evans suspected Jackline of infidelity. Evans revealed, “And we lived a smooth life without problems until this year January when I got a certain job. All our problems started when you started bringing men to our own marriage,”
Kosgei even went as far as leaking chats between Jackline and another man, revealing her purported plans to abandon him despite his sacrifices, including selling everything to educate her.
Despite forgiving Jackline for her transgressions, Evans claimed the situation deteriorated further, prompting him to make the chilling decision to end her life.
A bitter and disappointed Evan Kosgei wrote, “My sweetheart, you decided to go against all we promised each other nine years ago. I confided in you and trusted you more than my parents. Only for you to betray me after getting some money.”
Evans Kosgei ‘s rant on X portrays a man who had given up in life and had nothing to lose.
“Rest in peace my dear wife! I loved you. We promised each other so many things which we were yet to actualize, but I didn’t know that I was alone in those plans because you had other plans with other men.”
“Regrets come later. I wish you had rectified your mistakes way earlier in the start of the relationship. By now, we could be far better off, but you chose to do things your own way. It’s unfortunate that this young family had to die because of your stupidity,”
He added, “Men, allow me today to be a motivational speaker. Never ever take back a cheating wife.”
Jackline Kimaiyo Murder
On March 7, Jackline Kimaiyo went missing, not showing up for work at Itundu Secondary School in Nyeri County. Concerned colleagues found her lifeless body in her rented house, prompting a police investigation.
A day after the killing, Evans stated, “RIP if you are dead, but if you are still breathing, then learn a lesson that it is better to love someone alone instead of triple dealing. Hope all the other girls before you learn a lesson.”
He also stated, “Rest well my queen. I loved you but you loved someone else. Choices have consequences!”

Evans Kosgei Disappears
Subsequently, Evans Kosgei went into hiding, fleeing to Mombasa and later returning to Thika. Despite turning off his phone and disabling his SIM card to avoid tracking, law enforcement could not apprehend him in time.
In his final tweet before vanishing from the public eye, Evans wrote, “Rest in peace my love. Am following you back.”
On March 11, Kosgei’s lifeless body was found dangling from a tree in Thika, Kiambu County, with a rope around his neck. He left behind a suicide note and the identification card of his deceased wife, Jackline Kimaiyo.
