Brookhurst International School Lavington has responded to the viral bullying video showing a bigger student assaulting a younger student by pulling her hair and slapping her while issuing threatening warnings.
The video sparked outrage, with Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai condemning the incident, and questioning the reputation of schools labeled as “international.”
He stated, “How old is Brookhurst International School? It’s wrong to label every school international. Some of them have only international bad manners.”
Brookhurst School Responds
In a statement, Brookhurst emphasized that it does not condone any form of violence among its students and is addressing the issue through its disciplinary process.
“It has come to our attention that there is a video/photo depicting a disagreement between two students that led to a physical altercation. We want to emphasize that we do not condone any form of violence, conflict, or discord among our students. We are currently addressing this issue through our disciplinary process. Additionally, we are engaging the parents of the students involved to ensure they are informed and involved in the resolution process.”
The school stated,
Furthermore, Brookhurst acknowledged the existence of malicious individuals attempting to extort the school using the video. Legal measures have been instituted to address this issue.
“We want to emphasize that we do not condone any form of violence, conflict, or discord among our students,” stated Brookhurst’s Principal.
“Rest assured that we are taking this matter seriously and are working diligently to resolve it in a fair and appropriate manner.”
Brookhurst International School Lavington offers British curriculum education and has branches in Kiserian and Lavington.
