Joseph Mwenda Munoru, alias DJ Joe Mfalme wasted no time getting back into the groove after his release from a 14-day stint in jail.
Following his freedom from Kibera Law Courts on April 8, Joe Mfalme swiftly announced a series of gigs lined up in both Nairobi and Mombasa.
Tonight, the mixmaster will kick off his return at a popular nightclub along Mombasa Road. On Wednesday, he’ll perform at a club in Mirema. Then, on Friday, April 12, he’ll be at a club within City Mall in Nyali. Additionally, he will be in Kilifi on Saturday and Mombasa on Sunday.
These bookings come in the wake of DJ Joe Mfalme’s legal troubles linked to the assault and death of DCI officer Felix Kelian Kintosi on March 31.
DJ Joe Mfalme, along with five others, were cleared of murder charges and have now become state witnesses against the DJ’s hypeman Hype Ballo, who will face charges related to the officer’s death.
Upon his release, the gruff-looking DJ chose his words carefully, stating, “My lawyer has spoken, I will not say much. Bro, let me even go take a shower and shave, everything went well. I have learned my lesson… Fourteen days!“
Despite his time in custody, Joe Mfalme expressed gratitude for being cleared of the serious charges and designated as a state witness in the ongoing investigation.
In an Instagram statement, Joe Mfalme’s management conveyed appreciation to fans and supporters for standing by the entertainer during his challenging time.
“Dear Friends, supporters, and well-wishers, We sincerely thank you for standing firmly with DJ Joe and his team during this challenging period. We are relieved by the outcome of the investigations, which have cleared DJ Joe Mfalme and his team, Eric Kariuki, and Simon Wanjiru. As a result, DJ Joe Mfalme, Erick Kariuki, and Simon Wanjiru have been unconditionally released by the court sitting at Kibera today. We have instructed our legal representatives to follow up on Allan Ochieng’s case and provide legal assistance. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with Inspector Felix Kelian’s family, and we extend our deepest sympathies. Thank you for your prayers and continued support. God bless.”
