Former TV presenter Jacque Maribe has landed a government job as the Head of Communication at the Ministry of Public Service Performance and Delivery Management, headed by Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria.
This appointment follows Jacque Maribe’s recent acquittal in the Monica Kimani murder case, which lasted almost six years. Jacque Maribe was acquitted on February 9, 2024, due to a lack of proper evidence and the improper placement of charges, as noted by Justice Grace Nzioka of the Milimani Law Courts. The judge emphasized that the charges against Maribe were not appropriately framed. The DPP has since announced plans to appeal.
Previously, Jacque Maribe, worked as a senior Political Reporter at K24 TV before joining Citizen TV. The Monica Kimani murder trial, however, disrupted her TV career.

Netizens React
The news of Maribe’s appointment stirred mixed reactions on social media, with some expressing doubt about the decision and others celebrating her resilience and second chance. Itumbi’s post attracted various comments, some acknowledging the challenges Maribe faced and applauding her strength.
Anwar Saddat: Jackie is lucky to have you in her corner. From Love poems, to acquittal in murder trial, and now to her appointed in government on a Sunday from a bar, all because of your influence. Congratulations to you and her both. The true love story of endurance!
Danaaki: With millions of Kenyan youth who are jobless, that position had to wait for Jacqie Maribe to be excused by court from being a murder accomplice. The job was specially for her. KK loves criminals, it’s their first qualification to employability or appointment.
