Jackie Matubia took to her Instagram stories to express frustration after receiving mean comments on her post wearing a wedding dress for her character Zahra Mufasa on Maisha Magic’s show Salem, who recently tied the knot with her on-screen partner Joshua Mufasa. The mother of two captioned the post of her in wedding dress, “One day it won’t be acting.”
Jackie Matubia was once married to a pilot resulting in divorce, and later had a failed engagement with actor Blessing Lungaho, and each relationship produced a daughter.
Not my First Time
Setting the record straight, Jackie Matubia clarified that the acting wedding scene was not her first time wearing a wedding gown, as she was previously legally married. “Wedding gown, been there, done that, even with a wedding certificate.”
In a bold move, the actress challenged societal norms by equating marriage certificates to the degrees and college certificates of her detractors, deeming them equally useless. “News flash, ( a wedding certificate) ni kama hizo university and college certificates, hazisidii.”
Jackie Matubia Addresses Mean Comments
Hateful comments on the wedding post rubbed the mother of two the wrong way. For instance, one netizen said, “Baby number 3 loading,” and another one that suggested that Jackie Matubia is “almost bringing baby number three without the father in the picture.”
In response, the actress asserted her independence, stating, “Even if I have 10 children, they are mine. I am not asking anyone for help to bring them up, not even their fathers.”
Jackie Matubia also said that she does not desire marriage simply because she is a single mother. “Marriage is not everything to some of us. Just because I am a single mother, you think I crave for marriage?
Jackie added that marriage is not her priority as she already has two failed ones.
” I have had two failed marriages; why would you think marriage is what I would like to get into right now? We are on two different levels,”
She retorted to the haters.
