Donald Trump has become the first former U.S. president with a mug shot.
The former US president, Donald Trump, was photographed for a police mug shot after his arrest on Thursday at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia.
The ex-US president was arrested on racketeering and conspiracy charges.
And released on a $200,000 bond. Trump headed back home to New Jersey once he was released.
Why the arrest-Trump
Trump faces 13 felony counts in Georgia related to efforts to overturn the state’s 2020 election result.
Trump’s appearance in Georgia came a day after the first Republican primary debate, which he skipped.
Trump is currently the party’s front-runner for the 2024 presidential nomination. And he’s blasted Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for bringing the charges against him.
Release
Trump was released after he agreed to a $200,000 bond and other release conditions, including not using social media to intimidate co-defendants or witnesses in the case, which were previously negotiated by his attorneys.
Trump headed back home after he was released on bond after the quick jail visit.
“I did nothing wrong”: Donald Trump said after arrested in election fraud case.
“What has taken place here is a travesty of justice. We did nothing wrong. I did nothing wrong,” he told reporters as he prepared to fly out of Atlanta after being booked and photographed at the Fulton County Jail.
“What they’re doing is election interference,” he said.
