Jubilations are in order for Vic West, Fathermoh, Savara, Brandy Maina and Thee Exit Band for creating ‘Kuna Kuna’, which has since turned out to be a monster hit!
Much as they did the song casually, like they have done other songs over time, ‘Kuna Kuna’ has surprised and continues to surprise them, especially with the rate at which it is gaining global popularity.
Trending for three straight months now, ‘Kuna Kuna’, which is among the top 10 songs in East Africa and beyond, is now at over 12M YouTube views, which is a commendable record not only in African but also world music history.
With ‘Kuna Kuna’ Vic West has since registered his name in the great books of African music giants, because the studio project has turned out to be a record breaker in many ways.
However, besides uplifting the rankings of Vic West and other artists on the project in the music world, ‘Kuna Kuna’ has also changed the lives of very many people across the world who have encountered the stress-relieving jam.
Just a few days ago, a Kenyan police Chief identified as Mr. John Ogilo Migun became an instant celebrity after a video of him dancing to ‘Kuna Kuna’ went viral on Tik Tok.
A few days after the video went viral on Tik Tok Chief Ogilo landed another role as the marketing guru for a top Kenyan government entity.
But it is not only Chief Ogilo who has felt the impact of ‘Kuna Kuna’, because according to popular website Nairobi News.Com, several middle-aged people across Kenya and other countries have since joined Tik Tok ever since they watched his video.
