Otile Brown is reported to have pocketed close to Sh15 million in exchange for a role as Tecno brand ambassador.
The
jeraha hitmaker was recently unveiled as the Tecno Chief Creative Officer for the new Camon 19 series in a deal by the phones's Chinese mobile manufacturer.
"I want to be associated with the brand ethos and create a memorable song to inspire its audience’s Camon 19 stylish look," the hit maker said at the launch.
Tecno explained the partnership was exclusively for the upcoming Camon 19 Series, and that they took input from the musician in the design process of the device. Otile is tasked with explaining the device's functionality.
Born Jacob Olunga, Otile last year became the first artiste to surpass the 1 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.
Although he has had so many instances of his channel being pulled down by YouTube for various reasons, the singer continues to collect millions of shillings in revenue from other streaming platforms.
His latest song Celebration released barely two weeks ago has been pulled down due to copyright issues.
In the latest East Africa's list of artists with the highest views on YouTube, the songbird ranked in seventh position with 41.5 million views.
