Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones has asked Tanzanian artiste Diamond Platnumz to ‘return’ the money he was paid for his performance during Azimio la Umoja - One Kenya Coalition's last campaign rally at Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani.
Khaligraph, in a clip, says that Diamond should return the money because Azimio has ‘failed’.
“Return the money you were given to perform at Azimio’s rally. Your team has ‘failed’,” said Khaligraph.
It has since been established that Diamond pocketed Sh11.9 million for his brief performance at the Azimio rally.
Khaligraph's remarks come just a few days after Diamond sent a congratulatory message to Dr William Ruto for being declared the winner in the presidential election.
Diamond’s praise to the president-elect received mixed reactions, especially after he had heaped praises on Mr Raila Odinga during his performance in Kasarani.
The singer thrilled his fans with an invigorating 10-minute performance that saw him rally the youth to vote for the ODM party leader.
However, his performance stirred up controversy with Kenyan artistes questioning why they were not considered to perform at the Azimio event.
Rapper Juliani, in particular, termed Diamond’s performance as “distasteful”, while on the other hand comedian Eric Omondi used branded Kenyan artistes as lazy.
