Moses Kuria has sensationally accused his political competitors within Deputy President William Ruto's camp of paying people to heckle him during campaigns. Without providing evidence, the controversial lawmaker, in a detailed post on Facebook, said the attempts were aimed at embarrassing him. The comments come a day after a public spat between Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi and former governor William Kabogo at a public rally. "I will not apportion blame to any of the two gentlemen but I can relate to Kabogo's pain. For three days the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leadership has been meeting candidates to plot how to embarrass Kabogo and me during the tour,” claimed Kuria. He added: "It is imperative we live with the spirit of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance. Otherwise, it will be tantamount to politics of conmanship and deceit. We will be raising these concerns with our alliance principals as provided for in the Alliance instruments." The stand-off between Kabogo and Wamatangi reportedly ensued after the former governor reportedly delayed in handing him the microphone. Kuria, Kabogo and Wamatangi are all eyeing the Kiambu gubernatorial seat in the August 2022 polls. It is the second time inside a week different factions within Ruto's alliance have publicly differed. In the other incident witnessed in Kakamega, Boni Khalwale who is eyeing the Senator seat in the County was chased away by irate supporters of Cleophas Malala, who is gunning for the gubernatorial seat.
